Safeguarding

Greenhall is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

‘Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility’

KCSIE, 2025

Our approach to safeguarding is child-centred and coordinated. We will always consider what is in the best interests of the child. Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with their parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.

We actively support the Government’s Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Joanne di Castiglione (Headteacher). Our Deputy DSL is Miss Natalie Hart (DHT).

We view all behaviour as communication and seek to know the individual child and their family well. Thus, staff are educated to be alert to any changes in behaviour and to consider what the child may be trying to communicate through this...We make every effort to listen to and capture the voice of children to enable us to have a clear understanding of their daily lived experiences. This includes understanding that the child’s presenting behaviours and observations by staff also form part of the child’s voice.
